I am passionate about being a light in dark places. I believe every person has inherent value and deserves to flourish in all aspects of their lives. I have walked my own difficult roads, and I think this better positions me to help others. I strive for excellence in all areas of my life.

As a woman of faith, I believe in grace, and that each person has a special and precious plan for their lives.

My Approach

Counselling at Flourish is focused on the holistic well-being of an individual. The bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach to counselling helps us to understand the number of factors that can influence an individual's wellness. I am oriented towards care and support, through providing a place where clients can talk through what they are facing or struggling with in a safe, non-judgmental space. Counselling is often referred to as "talk therapy", and there is clear evidence that people are able to explore their problems and find solutions through a therapeutic relationship. I adhere to a client-centered approach, where the client leads and guides the process completely. Counselling is not about the counsellor telling the client what they think they should do, but is a collaborative relationship. My goal is for my clients to walk away feeling heard, supported and empowered. As such, the counselling journey will be unique to each individual.

Why Counselling?

There are a vast number of reasons you may seek counselling, including: stress management, trauma debriefing, bereavement, interpersonal social relationships, support for daily struggles and problems. Many people find they need the space to speak and process freely, and a therapeutic relationship allows this.

Please note that assessment and diagnosing mental disorders are not within my scope of practice.

Commitment to Clients

My commitment to clients is governed by the ASCHP Code of Ethics. I commit to providing a safe, judgement free space for all who seek help. I give of my utmost to each client, and do not discriminate on any basis. I am committed to honesty, integrity and continued self and professional development. If I do not feel that I can treat you appropriately, I will refer you to someone better able to help you.
